Mötley Crüe, the iconic rock band that has sold more than 100 million records over the course of their 40+ year career will partner with Covenant House to hold an exclusive charity dinner to raise funds to support young people experiencing homelessness and advance our mission to end youth homelessness as we know it.

The band members will host the fundraiser at the world-famous Rainbow Bar & Grill on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles where they started their global career in 1981. The venue is well known for the long roster of celebrities who have historically frequented it, including Elvis Presley, Elton John, Johnny Cash, Led Zeppelin, and Guns N’ Roses, among many others. The intimate dinner will take place Oct. 8.

“Hosting this special dinner with Covenant House means a lot to us. By coming together to support, we can offer young people safety, support, a place to call home and the chance at a future full of possibilities.”

- Vince Neil (Vocalist, Mötley Crüe)

“We are honored to partner with Covenant House to raise funds to help end the epidemic of youth homelessness that is affecting cities across America,” the members of Mötley Crüe shared and went on to underscore: “Youth homelessness is often connected with human trafficking, which is one of the most heinous crimes and targets some of the most vulnerable people in our society. We’re grateful to have a global platform to bring more attention to these issues and help end youth homelessness.”

Mötley Crüe has amassed seven USA platinum and multiplantinum albums, 22 Top 40 mainstream rock hits, six Top 20 pop singles, three Grammy nominations, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, authored a total of five New York Times bestselling books, and their bestselling biography, The Dirt, which sold over a million copies to date, premiered as a hit biopic by the same name on Netflix in 2019.

“Covenant House is a cause close to my heart. Every young person deserves a safe place to sleep and the opportunity to thrive. So let’s rally, change some lives and make it so every kid has a place to call home sweet home!”

- Tommy Lee (Drummer, Mötley Crüe)

The band’s cofounder and bassist, Nikki Sixx, first connected with Covenant House 20 years ago, when he was finishing work on his memoir “The Heroin Diaries.” He was so moved by a visit to our Hollywood campus, he decided to donate the book’s proceeds to build a music room. “I was thinking one day, what was it that really saved my life — and it was music! It was those records I put on, it was those songs I listened to, those artists I looked up to; it was about being inspired by lyrics and artists and how they handled themselves,” he said. To provide a healing opportunity like that for Covenant House’s youth seemed to Nikki the best thing he could do with his book proceeds, and he explained the passion the whole band feels for Covenant House’s mission: “Young people facing homelessness have fallen through the cracks …. A lot of the kids end up bouncing from couch to couch and friend to friend, and a lot of them end up on the street in some really horrible situations they don’t know how to get out of. We want people to know about the great work Covenant House does. We want them to know the money they’re donating is going to good use. It’s actually going to help the kids.”

“Rallying support for Covenant House is truly inspiring. They are a remarkable organization and their tireless efforts to combat youth homelessness makes a real difference. Let's support and give every youth the chance they deserve.”

- John 5 (Guitarist, Mötley Crüe)

And it does so across the broad range of best-in-class programs and services Covenant House has developed since our founding more than 50 years ago. After meeting youths’ immediate needs for safe shelter, nutritious meals, and medical and mental health care, we help young people advance their education, provide job readiness programs, and support them along various career pathways.

Increasingly, Covenant House is working to address the root causes of youth homelessness in a strategy we call “The Journey Home.” Alongside our high-quality direct services, our plan calls us to deepen our prevention and aftercare programs, including the promotion of affordable-for-youth housing, with the goal to end youth homelessness as we know it.

“These kids are the future. Giving them the help they need now, so they can give back to society — give back in the workforce, give back in entrepreneurship, give back in having families, and give back in healing broken families — is so important. Giving them a shot that they wouldn’t usually get should be of utmost importance to everybody.”

- Nikki Sixx (Bassist, Mötley Crüe)

That’s why Mötley Crüe started the Mötley Crüe Give Back Initiative in 2024, and the band members will be hosting this singular and exclusive fundraiser for Covenant House. It will be an intimate gathering with our most committed supporters as part of the band’s jam-packed fall 2024 schedule, which will also boast some big surprise announcements for fans.

It will be a powerhouse evening for a powerful cause taking Mötley Crüe back to their roots on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles, CA. Covenant House couldn’t be more honored by our partnership with Mötley Crüe.
