Open Arms Society
The Open Arms Society was created to help build a brighter future for vulnerable youth. Your commitment as a loyal donor is not just a financial contribution—it’s a partnership that transforms lives and fights to end youth homelessness.
By joining OAS, you become part of a community of supporters dedicated to providing immediate and long-term support for every young person who comes through our doors. Your contribution ensures that each one of them has a safe place to sleep, access to medical care, and the opportunity to reach their full potential.
Together, we can work towards our goal of ending youth homelessness as we know it today.
Your Membership Changes Young Lives
More than 4.2 million young people experience homelessness in the U.S. each year. The Open Arms Society is critical to helping Covenant House reach as many youth as possible.
Thanks to generous supporters, like you, we provided more than 862,000 nights of housing to young people in the past year. That’s 2,400 kids who sleep safely in a Covenant House bed each night because of your relentless dedication to homeless youth.
Give Young People Facing Homelessness a Chance to Thrive
Our OAS donors are some of our most dedicated supporters, giving at higher levels to ensure that Covenant House has the resources to reach more young people in their time of need. Join us in our commitment to relentlessly support homeless young people and fight human trafficking.
You’ll automatically become an Open Arms Society member when you give $1,000 or more over the course of the year. There are many ways to fulfill this commitment, including paying your gift either monthly or quarterly.
Interested in becoming a monthly donor?
A monthly gift of $84 or more will help support Covenant House youth in their first nights in a safe bed. And take another step toward our goal of ending youth homelessness.

Meet the Community Making a Difference for Our Young People
You too, can make a difference
We support Covenant House because we know they support and care for a lot of young people who have aged out of foster care and really have nowhere else to go...I'm thankful that Covenant House will welcome them with open arms, love and care for them, and help them work toward a brighter future.
Peter P.My wife and I believe that Covenant House does extremely valuable work in getting young people off of the streets; offering them a safe place to stay, heal and move forward. We are very selective about who we support, and we always do our homework first...We've been donors since 1987 and we have never wavered in our support.
Richard & Rosemary B.The Journey Home: Three Pathways Toward Ending Youth Homelessness
With your support, we will focus on building three pathways to truly make a difference for kids on the streets, now and in the future. We’re calling it the Journey Home, and it’s Covenant House’s strategic vision to end youth homelessness as we know it. As an OAS member, you are on the leading edge of this journey, ensuring we have the resources needed to transform this vision into reality.
Pathway 1: Prevention
As an OAS member, you help our prevention efforts by
- advocating to change laws and practices that lead to youth homelessness
- helping to raise awareness through community education
- offering short-term interventions for youth
When we create the conditions that mitigate homelessness, we can prevent youth from ever having to enter systems of care.
Pathway 2: Intervention
As an OAS member, you play a key role in our intervention efforts by
- advocating for increased investment in mental health and workforce development practices, which are crucial for enabling young people to thrive
- supporting the use of research to inform and adapt practices, ensuring the best outcomes
By focusing on these areas, you help create a comprehensive support system across all Covenant House sites that addresses the diverse needs of the youth in our care, fostering their growth and stability.
Pathway 3: Restoration
As an OAS member, you help our restoration efforts by
- helping us develop robust alumni communities that provide ongoing support and connection for our youth
- helping to grow resources for short-term interventions, ensuring that alumni remain stably housed during times of crisis
- advocating for and supporting the development of effective and affordable housing solutions for young people transitioning to independence, creating a stable foundation for their future
Are You All In?
You will automatically become an OAS member when you commit to give $1,000 or more cumulatively over the course of a calendar year (that’s just $84 a month!).
