Get All In With Our Partner, Humble Bundle

Humble Bundle supports Covenant House

During Youth Homelessness Awareness Month, Covenant House has received a groundswell of support from so many committed individuals, their friends and family, communities of service, and corporations committed to impact. Our community has really gone ALL IN with us this year as we work to end youth homelessness as we know it. In this blog, we highlight Humble Bundle, one of our incredible partners, to show what it really means to be all in, right down to the core of your mission.

Humble Bundle has been a steadfast supporter of Covenant House for seven years now. During Youth Homelessness Awareness Month, they made us a recipient of support from this month’s “The Dark Pictures & Little Nightmares Horror Collection” and the “Sid Meier Collection” bundles. You can actually still get the Sid Meier Collection today right here and support youth experiencing homelessness while getting your fix of strategy games like Civilization VI.

Since our partnership with Humble Bundle began, the Humble community has contributed over $3 million to Covenant House. Each year, they select an area of our work to support through a donation and awareness opportunities. Some of the programs they’ve supported include:

  • Street outreach: Covenant House street and community outreach is the bridge to housing, healing, and opportunity. We show young people experiencing homelessness that we care and that they deserve a safe place to sleep, unconditional love, and absolute respect. This year, we provided critical resources to 4,900 young people living unhoused.

  • Food services: Our youth can count on three nutritious meals and a snack each day. At Covenant House, these meals are more than nutritious food — they serve as the foundation for building trust with homeless and trafficked youth and those who may have gone hungry in homes struggling to put food on the table. The cost of one meal for one youth is $3.80, and the Humble donation last year helped to provide over 147,000 meals. This year, Covenant House served 1.8 million meals.

  • LGBTQ+ safety and inclusion services: LGBTQ+ youth are incredibly overrepresented among all young people facing homelessness. Even though LGBTQ+ youth make up only 7% of the entire youth population in the U.S., they comprise as much as 40% of young people who are currently homeless, unstably housed, couch surfing, or living in precarious housing conditions. Not only are LGBTQ+ youth 120% more likely to be homeless, they have a harder time accessing safe housing at every point along the housing continuum, from shelter to permanent housing. The Humble investment in these services helped Covenant House advance safety and inclusion at our sites, creating more affirming programs, policies, and spaces across all sites. This year, 26% of youth in our care are LGBTQ+.

The Humble community express their support for Covenant House and youth experiencing this way:

At Humble, we’re passionate about supporting Covenant House because we believe in giving all young people a fair shot at a better life. We admire how Covenant House creates a safe and welcoming space for youth experiencing homelessness, focusing on inclusivity and their overall health and well-being — both physically and mentally.

The stories we hear from Covenant House about the resilience and strength of the young people they serve truly inspire us. It’s amazing to see how their programs provide not just shelter, but also warm meals, education, and opportunities for career development. This work is so important, and it’s a constant reminder of why we’re involved.

We’re proud to partner with Covenant House and do our part to help make a positive difference in the lives of these young people. We’re committed to supporting their mission all year long and helping them create brighter futures for those in need.“
-Kamini Tiwari, Vice President of Social Impact, Humble Bundle

Covenant House is incredibly grateful for Humble Bundle’s partnership and ongoing support. Their annual donation is critical to our programs and services. In order to truly help a young person change their life, we know that opening a door is just the initial step in a long journey. With the support of partners like Humble, Covenant House provides transformational programs that give our youth the tools and support they need to build a future of their own. We need partners like Humble to stand with us, year after year, as we pave the way toward ending youth homelessness as we know it in the countries where we work.

You can count on Covenant House to be here fighting until the issues that drive youth homelessness are exposed and overcome, and no young person is left without a safe place to sleep and a safety net that protects them in the future.
